duality
This fashion film explores the concept of duality through a collection built on the tension between two highly contrasting prints. The narrative unfolds through two characters inspired by chess archetypes: the King and the Queen, each embodying distinct forms of power, presence, and symbolism.
To reinforce the film’s dialogue around duality and identity, the role of the Queen is portrayed by a trans performer, introducing an additional layer of complexity and fluidity to the visual narrative.
The piece is set in the historic Gran Casino de Madrid, whose opulent architecture—blending marble finishes, floral ornamentation, and Corinthian columns—mirrors the interplay of contrast present in the collection itself. The space becomes a visual extension of the garments, where classic grandeur and delicate detailing coexist, echoing the film’s central theme of opposing forces in balance.
